Some might argue that it's rather a step down from laptops but the Samsung Galaxy Tab smartphone DNA is obvious from the moment you touch it.The 7-inch Android tablet has full phone functionality and the only thing that separates it from being called an insanely oversized cell phone is the fact that you cannot make phone calls by holding it next to your ear. The rest of the specs sheet looks like it belongs to a cell phone if you don't mind the oversized screen.

i get this stuff or device last two days,i rate also this device or my new samsung tab gt p1000 is 4 star because this device is great you dont need get new line to use data and phone line,if u have line already what ever att or t. mobile , just insert the sim instantly u have a tablet and phone at the same time much better if your sim carrier is t.mobile , u dont need to get extra data plan just your current data plan and thats it. also i advice to get the unlocked samsung tab .because when you get in store like verizon,t.mlbile or sprint carrier you must get data plan that cause you a lot of money is not worthed . so right now im very happy and impressed this kind of device,internet no problem ,especialy when you use or watced videos angames because this device is loaded with adobe flash player 10.1 which is very important in tablet device. previously i got the viewsonic i returned it because the device is not supported by adobe flash 10.1.resolution is great,android 2.2 froyo is one of the best,so i advice to get this device im sure your satisfaction rate is 10.

The Galaxy Tab is a great tablet. I received one as a gift for my birthday from my wife. It has great performance all around, even with games. Accessing the applications menu is instant. Screen is very responsive. Installed an extra program called "Picture viewer" and was able to quite efficiently access and view 5+ megabyte images which are very large at super high resolution while using multi-touch pinch zoom. Large jpg images are faster than viewing high resolution PDF files. Most PDF books are quite fast as well, however in some cases there maybe a 1/2 second delay on turning pages which to me is not a huge deal breaker. I would say if you are attempting to view something that is the size of a blueprint however, PDF is not the way to go on this device. I would go with the "Picture viewer application" and jpg image format.
Email works wonders, I use it daily. There are many great applications on the android market such as FTP, Google Goggles (Image search), adobe reader, Angry Birds (Addicting), Pulse and MANY more... Battery life is pretty good with multiple day use as long as the screen is not on 24/7 and you don't have the brightness at 100% which would be to bright anyways for most people. The GSM version is a must have, as it allows you to use mobile broadband and make phone calls while checking email or anything else you want to do while talking to clients etc... Multitasking is awesome on this device. I will say the calendar application is a bit ugly and there should be more themes available, however this is probably the fault of Android and not this device.
